To determine if an individual is eligible to receive
adult services, an OEDI assessment must be completed by the Coordinator of
Community Support. This assessment evaluates a person in seven life areas,
including self-care, mobility, self-direction, capacity for independent
living, learning, receptive and expressive language, and economic
self-sufficiency.
An individual must be found to have substantial functional limitations
in three of these life areas. Documentation verifying that the
developmental disability occurred before the age of 22 and will continue
throughout life is also required.
